My website is a blog/ecommerce store/news site/fan site/whatever, will I still benefit from Hybrid Connect?
Whether or not Hybrid Connect is useful to you depends more on your business model than on the type of website you run.
Ask yourself this: do you have anything to gain from getting return customers or visitors? Are there any products (your own or affiliate products) that you could recommend to your visitors and that they would be interested in? Do you have valuable content, products, services or information to share with your visitors?
If the answer to any of the above is “yes”, then Hybrid Connect will be useful to you. Hybrid Connect is ultimately about getting more people to sign up to your mailing list(s), so that you can win them as return visitors and so that you have a new (and highly effective) channel through which you can communicate with them. There are very few (if any) online businesses for which building mailing lists and email-based relationships with the customer base is not an extremely profitable thing to do.
I've never done webinars. Is Hybrid Connect still useful for me?
Yes, absolutely. The webinar signup feature is just one addition to Hybrid Connect and it’s immensely useful for people who do run webinars. But even if you’ll never run a single webinar for your online business, you’ll still benefit from the “basic” email list building features in Hybrid Connect.
I run webinars and I just import the leads from GoToWebinar to my autoresponder. Why would I need Hybrid Connect?
Assuming you don’t need any of the other Hybrid Connect features, there’s still one big benefit to using Hybrid Connect instead of the standard GoToWebinar signup process: better conversion rates.
There are two factors that will ensure you get better conversion rates using Hybrid Connect than GTW:
Create better signup pages:
You’ve probably noticed that GTW signup pages generally convert at about 50% (i.e. if you send 1000 people to the page, about 500 will actually register for the webinar). The pages are not very customizable, they aren’t very appealing and there are a minimum of three form fields that need to be filled out. With Hybrid Connect, you can easily create better, more appealing signup pages and using the faceboon connect feature, completely eliminate the need for your visitors to fill out a form, to register.
In-content signup forms:
Using Hybrid Connect, you can add a form that signs people up to a webinar (and a mailing list, if you want) right inside a blog post, article or any other content page on your site. So, instead of sending them to a different page, through a link, they can sign up right away, without ever leaving your site.
In both cases, you’re simply eliminating obstacles and making it easier and more seamless for your visitors to join your webinar events and get on your mailing list.
Can I use Hybrid Connect on more than one website?
Yes, if you purchase the multi-site license of Hybrid Connect, you can use it on as many of your own websites as you wish!
Can I use Hybrid Connect on websites that I create or optimize for my clients?
Yes, if you own the Professional license for Hybrid Connect, you are free to install it on your clients’ websites and offer the installation of Hybrid Connect as part of your marketing/consulting service.
Alternatively, you can recommend Hybrid Connect to your clients, as an affiliate. You don’t need any license to do this and you’ll earn money whenever one of your clients purchases Hybrid Connect.
Can I use Hybrid Connect on websites that I create or optimize for my clients?
Yes, you can do so if you have the Professional license for Hybrid Connect.
If you own the Multi-Site license instead, you either need to uninstall the plugin before selling a site or make sure that the buyer purchases his/her own copy of Hybrid Connect and updates it with their new license key, after the purchase.
Will I have to pay for future updates to Hybrid Connect?
No, all future updates to the plugin will be completely free to you. As an existing customer, you will simply receive an email notification when a new version is available and you’ll be able to download it from the customer area, free of charge!
I want to create my own custom signup form style. Is this possible?
Yes: the Hybrid form builder is extremely flexible. You can just pick a template and make minor modifications, but you can also create your entirely own style and you can edit every aspect of the forms. Style, color, images, fonts, size… you name it.
Can the opt-in forms created with Hybrid Connect be placed anywhere on my site?
Yes, they can. There’s a simple option to add an opt-in form to the bottom of each blog post. There’s also a simple widget that you can use to insert a form in your sidebar or any other widget area supported by your theme.
In addition, you can insert forms on any post or page, using a simple short code. This means the forms can even appear in the middle of your content.
Finally, you can use a php snippet to insert a form anywhere in your theme. There are no limits to where you can place Hybrid Connect forms, within your site.
I'm not a programmer and not a very techy person. Can I still use Hybrid Connect?
Yes, absolutely. You can use the full feature set of this plugin without ever touching a single line of code. In addition to having a very easy to use interface, you’ll also receive detailed instruction videos that walk you through every step of the setup and usage of Hybrid Connect.
Even without any programming skills or technical know-how, you can get this plugin up and running within minutes!
Which autoresponder services are supported by Hybrid Connect?
The plugin works with any autoresponder service that generates HTML signup forms. You can copy and paste this form into Hybrid Connect. These autoresponders include Aweber, GetResponse, iContact, Constant Contact, MailChimp, Infusionsoft, OfficeAutopilot, arpReach, Imnica Mail and many, many more.
In addition, you can use the signup forms to register visitors to your WordPress site or WordPress powered forum and you can use them to sign visitors up to GoToWebinar events.
Can I use Hybrid Connect to sign people up to my blog's RSS feed instead of an autoresponder?
No, this is not a supported feature and deliberately so. It would be a waste, signing people up to your RSS feed instead of a mailing list. The reason is simple: with a mailing list, you can easily send emails to keep subscribers up to date on your latest blog posts, but you can also do much, much more. You have complete freedom and flexibility concerning the mailings you send and your mailing list is an asset you truly own.
RSS subscribers are much less responsive and you don’t have anywhere near the same flexibility or control over your communication with your subscribers.
Can I create and display more than one opt-in form at the same time?
Yes, you can easily have multiple opt-in forms active at the same time.
For example, you might have a form in your sidebar and one at the bottom of each post. In addition, you can have a different opt-in form showing on your homepage and a further one showing on, say, a page with a webinar invitation. Using Hybrid Connect, you can create and display unlimited forms.
Is it possible to create opt-in forms that don't have the hybrid functionality?
Yes, for each form you create, you can choose between “Hybrid”, “Facebook” and “Email”.
Hybrid automatically shows a facebook connect button to visitors who are currently logged into facebook.
Facebook shows the connect button to all visitors, whether or not they are currently logged into facebook.
Email shows a typical opt-in form with name and email address fields, regardless of whether or not visitors are currently logged into facebook.
You have complete freedom of choice when it comes to setting up the behavior of each form you create.
I need to get tons of traffic to my site before this is any use to me, right?
You do need traffic to make this work, but don’t make the common mistake of holding off on list-building for too long.
If you get zero traffic, then Hybrid Connect won’t make a difference to your business. But even if you get a small trickle of regular traffic to a website, ask yourself this: would you rather have those few visitors leave, never to come back, or would you rather get a few of them on your mailing list?
Even the slowest-growing mailing list is far better than no mailing list at all.
Of course, it’s great stuff once you have a list of thousands upon thousands of highly responsive subscribers and you can quite literally increase your income at the click of a few buttons. However, what many marketers neglect is how useful even a fairly small mailing list is. Even just a few hundred people on a mailing list can help you get more and better feedback about what your target market wants and needs and they can add a small but steady stream of extra income to your bottom line.
Does this work with single opt-in? / Does this work with double opt-in?
Hybrid Connect works with whatever settings you’ve created in your autoresponder account. If it’s single opt-in, subscribers are added directly and if it’s confirmed opt-in, they will receive the confirmation email you’ve specified in your autoresponder service, before being added. Hybrid Connect makes no difference to this functionality.
Does this plugin support multiple languages?
Every text element that is displayed on the front-end is 100% customizable. This means that you can easily create opt-in forms in any language you wish.
The back-end of the plugin (settings etc.) is in English.
I have a responsive web site that adjusts to the size of the user's screen size - are the web forms generated by Hybrid Connect responsive?
Short answer: yes. We are the only email opt-in box solution that gives you the option of creating responsive lead capture forms.
Long answer: our template builder allows you to create both responsive opt-in forms (that adjust to width of the surrounding elements on the page) and it also allows you to create set dimension forms (where you set the px width and height of the elements in the opt-in box).
With just one click of a tick box, you can toggle between the two and decide which format you prefer.
Does Hybrid Connect Only Run on WordPress or Do You Have a Standalone Version?
Currently Hybrid Connect only runs on the WordPress platform, however we are considering opening up a standalone version. This means that you’d be able to install Hybrid Connect on your server and use it on standard HTML sites.
If this is a feature that interests you then please make sure you let us know by signing up here!
Is it possible to show only an email field, rather than name and email fields?
Yes, for the regular signup forms, you have a choice between collecting name and email address or just emails.
Does this work with Thesis 2/Genesis/Framework Themes?
Yes, Hybrid Connect works with all these themes.
Can the lightbox popup be delayed?
Yes, we currently have three triggers that you can use on your lightboxes (click, time and scroll). We will very shortly be adding a new feature that allows you to trigger the lightbox when the user’s mouse leaves the screen.
Can the lightbox popup be shown only on specific pages/posts?
Yes, you have a very comprehensive set of display options for your lightbox. You can choose to display your ligthboxes on:-
- All posts
- All pages
- All posts and pages
- Specific Posts
